In 2008, Derek Pilecki founded Gator Capital Management. He currently manages a long/short financials strategy, long-only financials strategy, and various other individual portfolios. Derek has managed a private fund for 11 years. He launched one mutual fund and took over management of another mutual fund.
From 2002 through 2008, Derek was a member of the Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) Growth Equity Team (Co-Chair of the Investment Committee for the Growth Team and a Portfolio Manager).
Prior to GSAM, Derek was an Analyst at Clover Capital Management in Rochester, NY and Burridge Growth Partners in Chicago, IL. He covered the Financials sector at both firms. Before entering graduate school, Derek worked at Fannie Mae providing interest rate risk analysis for the company’s mortgage investment portfolio.
Derek holds an MBA with honors in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago and a BA in Economics from Duke University. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
Trader and Quantitative Analyst

In 2014, Chris Pilecki joined Gator Capital Management as a Trader and Quantitative Analyst.
From 2008 through 2014, Chris was a Trader at Chesapeake Capital Corporation where he gained extensive experience trading equity index, fixed income, foreign currency (FX) and commodity futures contracts on global exchanges. While at Chesapeake, Chris also was involved in trading system research.
Chris was an analyst at Atlantic Capital Management in Richmond, VA from 2003 to 2008. At Atlantic, Chris followed small and mid-cap companies in the technology and energy sectors. He also worked at Shockoe Capital, a long/short equity hedge fund, and in the sell side research department of Wachovia Securities prior to joining Atlantic Capital.
Chris holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Johns Hopkins University and a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
Beau Audirsch joined Gator Capital Management in February of 2013. At Gator, Beau is a Portfolio Accountant.
Prior to joining Gator, Beau worked for MAC Investment Management. Beau joined MAC in 2011, where his responsibilities included accounting and back-office operations. At Gator, Beau’s primary responsibility involves portfolio accounting, as well as assisting in matters related to GIPS compliance.
Beau studied at St. Petersburg College.
Beau provides his services to Gator Capital Management through Oakpoint Advisors, LLC.
Manager, Portfolio Analyst
Alexis joined Gator Capital Management in 2014 as a Marketing Analyst. She oversees marketing firm wide. Alexis’ responsibilities include creation and branding of materials, website management, client outreach, and due diligence.
Alexis earned her BA in English from Florida State University and her Master of Arts in Management from Wake Forest Univesrtiy.
Chief Compliance Officer
In 2009, Kyle Bubeck founded Beacon Compliance Consulting in 2009. The firm provides Chief Compliance Officer services to registered investment advisors, stand-alone mutual funds, and mutual fund series trusts.
Kyle joined the compliance industry in 2003 when he became a partner and the Chief Compliance Officer of TrendStar Advisors, LLC. In March of 2008, in addition to serving as Trendstar Advisor’s CCO, Kyle also assumed the role of Chief Compliance Officer of Trendstar Investment Trust, whose funds were managed by Trendstar Advisors.
Kyle received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
Chief Financial Officer
Tom joined Oakpoint in 2020 as the Chief Financial Officer responsible for our manager partnership program. In this role he and his team act as the integrated operational solution for a limited number of hedge fund clients. Tom has more than 20 years of experience launching, building out and managing all aspects of hedge fund operations and infrastructure. Prior to joining Oakpoint,
Most recently, Tom served as CFO and CCO for Latimer Light Capital, an investment advisor based in New York City. Prior to his 5 years at Latimer Capital, he was Senior Controller for 6 years at Blue Ridge Capital, a multi-strategy investment firm based in New York, NY. Prior to that he held CFO or Senior Controller positions at Actian Capital, Cobble Creek Management, Claiborne Capital Management and Pequot Capital.
Tom earned his bachelor’s degree from Roger Williams University.
